Imagine a shoebox, crammed full with pictures, soundbites, videos and whatnot, in fact with everything the classes involved in the EDURISK experience happened to pick up or put together in the various stages of the educational journey they undertook to the discovery of seismic and volcanic risk. This is edubox: a container for all projects developed by the school for EDURISK. Essays and researches, poems and songs, games and puzzles, drawings, dioramas, cartoons and conundrums ... there is no end to the material ways in which knowledge, experience and imagination can express themselves.
The completed Edurisk "jobs of work" have been filed for reference under four main headings, each of whom corresponds to one of the ways in which our subject of choice can be tackled at school. "Let me explain" collects the scientifically-minded projects whose main goal is explaining/understanding the geological-geophysical side of natural phenomena. "History & Stories" hosts the projects that explore the historical side of natural phenomena, their influence on the cultural heritage of a country and how history can help reducing natural hazard. "Trembling and quaking" is the allotted space for the projects dealing with the psicological side of natural phenomena, that is how they influence feelings, fears, and popular beliefs. "Before, after and in-between" gathers the projects whose main goal is understanding which behaviours and preventive measures should be adopted in order to reduce the risks generated by natural phenomena.
Finally, within the Edubox there will soon be also a few interviews, videos and animations prepared by the Edurisk staff and collaborators.
Please feel free to rummage into the edubox at will; you can either skim through the four cathegories at random or use the search engine to find a particular school year, school or item.
